2027-28 School Year Enrollment Dates

• Open Enrollment: Open enrollment for new families will run Friday, October 23rd – Friday, November 27th — a 5-week period.

• Information Sessions: We invite you and your family to learn more about Great Hearts Lake Charles and a private caliber education offering without the cost of tuition. Please visit our Events page to register for an upcoming session.

• Lottery & Offers: Our lottery will take place Wednesday, December 2nd. Offers will be sent via email.

• Post Open Enrollment: Did you miss the Open Enrollment window? Good news! We accept year-round applications. All applications submitted after December 2nd are reviewed and seats will be offered based on grade-level seat availability so we encourage you to submit an application.

Open Enrollment

Open Enrollment is when families complete a new online application to Great Hearts Lake Charles in hopes of receiving an offer of enrollment. Once the Open Enrollment period is completed, all applications submitted will be included in the Great Hearts Lottery.

Lottery

Any application submitted during the open enrollment period is eligible for a lottery. When academy receives more applications then there are seats available, a grade-independent lottery is held to determine the waitlist order. The lottery assigns a random number to each application and then the applications are ordered on the waitlist based on the lottery number, application type, and priority status.

Offers and Registration

After the Lottery, Great Hearts Lake Charles will extend offers to families according to their number on the waitlist and fill any available seats for the next school year. Offers are sent in writing and families are given a deadline to accept their offer and complete registration.
